Antifreeze

An antifreeze is a fluid with a lower freezing point than water that is used in places where freezing water could damage pipes or otherwise cause harm. Antifreeze is used as an engine coolant rather than water because the freezing water would expand and damage the radiator. A typical antifreeze coolant in a car engine is a mixture of ethylene glycol and water.
