Body temperature is the temperature of an organism. Normal body temperature varies widely between organisms.

Organisms that regulate their body temperature in a narrow range are called homeotherms. Organisms that let their body temperature change significantly are called poikilotherms.

Organisms that produce most of their body heat internally are called endotherms. The opposite is an organism that has its body temperature controlled by the environment - an ectotherm.
