Extensor carpi ulnaris muscle

The extensor carpi ulnaris muscle is a muscle of the forearm used to extend and adduct the hand at the wrist.

Origin

The extensor carpi ulnaris muscle originates from the humerus just above the elbow joint. It attaches at the common extensor origin on the anterior aspect of the lateral epicondyle.

Insertion

The extensor carpi ulnaris muscle inserts on the wrist, at the base of fifth metacarpal.

Innervation

The extensor carpi ulnaris muscle is innervated by the posterior interosseous nerve (C7 and C8).
