Extensor digiti minimi muscle

The extensor digiti minimi muscle is a muscle in the forearm used to extend all the joints in the little finger.

Origin

The extensor digiti minimi originates from the humerus at the elbow joint. It attaches at the common extensor origin on the anterior aspect of the lateral epicondyle.

Insertion

The extensor digiti minimi inserts at the extensor expansion of the little finger, which attaches to the proximal, intermediate and distal phalanges - the three bone in that finger.

Innervation

The extensor digiti minimi is innervated by the posterior interosseous nerve (C7 and C8).
