Foie gras is a dish made from the liver of a duck that has been force fed corn or other grains to make it especially fatty. It is considered a delicacy in French cuisine and has gained popularity elsewhere. Animal rights groups have taken particular offense from foie gras, prompting several cities in the US to ban it.
