Honey is a sweet, sugary syrup made by bees. As a food product, it is extracted from beeswax and used as a sweetener.

Honey may contain botulism spores, which are harmless to adults, but may grow if ingested by an infant. Many honey products have warnings to not feed honey to infants under one year old due to this concern.
