Island is a 1962 novel, the final major work of Aldous Huxley. It tells the story of Will Farnaby, a bitter, unhappy journalist who is shipwrecked on Pala, an isolated island with a unique culture. It explores such themes as the meeting and mixing of eastern and western philosophy, selective industrialization, the role of drugs in society, and marriage and family structures.
