A methyl group (-CH3, -Me) is a type of chemical group consisting of one carbon atom bonded to three hydrogen atoms. The fourth bond of the central carbon bonds with the rest of the molecule, for example, in methyl bromide (Br-CH3), a bromine atom bonds to the central carbon of the methyl group.
