Microorganism

A microorganism (microbe) is an organism too small to see with the unaided eye and is only visible under a microscope or more powerful means of magnification. Single celled bacteria are the major constituent of microorganisms, but the category also includes varieties of fungi, protozoa, and algae. Viruses, while certainly small enough to qualify, are only sometimes considered microorganisms as they are typically not considered organisms.
