The psoas minor muscle is a muscle of the abdomen that connects the mid back to the pelvis. It flexes the trunk to assist in motions such as walking or running.
The psoas minor originates from T12 (the twelfth and last of the thoracic vertebrae), L1 (the first of the lumbar vertebrae), and the intervertebral disc between them.
The psoas minor inserts at the fascia over the psoas major muscle and the iliacus.
The psoas minor is innervated by the anterior primary rami of L1.
