A tea kettle is a type of pot specially designed for heating and pouring water for tea. Tea kettles usually have an elongated handle to keep the high temperatures inside away from the user's hand, a spout for pouring the water without dripping, and a steam powered whistle to indicate that the water is boiling. Tea kettles can be heated on a stove or furnace and some have internal electric elements.
