The urinary system, also called the renal system, is the body organ system involves in the production, storing, and eliminating urine.

This system is composed of 2 kidneys, 2 ureters, bladder and urethra. Males and females have similar urinary system except the length of the urethra.

Functions

Specifically, the functions of the Urinary System are:

-Removing body waste products namely urea and uric acid

-Regulating the electrolyte balance

-Regulating acid-base homeostasis

-Maintaining blood pressure

-Controlling blood volume
